Citroen C2 – Seriously Sporty
Replacing the hugely popular Saxo was never going to be an easy task, but with the C2, Citroen have found a worthy successor. Small, yet surprisingly roomy, the C2 has won plaudits for its modern interior, generous equipment levels and the same handling which made the Saxo such a pleasure to drive. In short, the C2 is perfect for those who want a small car with serious sporting credentials.
Citroen has good form in the hot hatch arena. Its predecessor was famed for its driveability and go cart-esque handling, characteristics which are in abundance in the new C2.
Dubbed an ‘urban sports car’ by Citroen and this is certainly an apt moniker. This nippy supermini is one of the hottest of the hot hatches on the market today.
Inside – Everything inside the C2 has been designed for ultimate driving pleasure and comfort. From the futuristic digital display, to the plethora of cubby holes and storage space the C2 has everything you need to travel in comfort and style. A split rear tailgate offers easy access to the boot and modular rear seats allow you to make the most cabin space, making the C2 one of the most practical small cars around.
Outside – In line with the sporty feel throughout, the C2’s exterior is described as aerodynamic, yet purposeful. With the distinctive, bold styling we have come to know and love from Citroen, the C2 comes with a range of pearlescent or metallic paint options to choose from
Performance – Sporty, yet economical, the C2 is the best of both worlds. The range topping VTS is powered by a 1.6 litre HDi engine, delivering 0-60 in an impressive 8.3 seconds and a top speed of 120mph. Despite this, it will still deliver up to a staggering 76.3mpg, making it as fuel efficient as it is quick.
They Say:
“Citroen has blessed the C2 with boxily good looks and a decent drive to give it plenty of appeal.” What Car
“This chunky three-door is modern and fresh, putting many of its ageing rivals to shame.” Auto Express
“The Citroen C2 carries on where its predecessor, the Saxo, left and is a neatly packaged, easy to drive and affordable small hatchback.” Parkers
